Nice.. Take lots of pics. I may start my swap as soon as this weekend. Depends whether our local club wants to go wheeling this weekend or not If not then I'll be starting the 4.0 pull on Monday.

I'm also using the 5.3, 4l60e, autometer gauges.. I'm using AA for the mounts, TC adapter, radiator, misc mounts.. I'll have to look into those block hugger headers as I don't have that part covered yet.

well the speedway headers r not gona work they would be good for really tight fits but i have more room than that they exit right into the block and oil pan too close.

here is the empty bay

in close to where it is going to be i want it back a little more and maybe up some

looks like the stock manifolds from the pickup will work for now

Good info.. I'm supposed to start my teardown tomorrow. Which model are the headers exactly? They exit into the block?? weird..

Were they the tight fit or clipsters?

Nice. Years back a buddy and I dropped a 302 Boss into a CJ5, made for a Jeep that'd smoke 12.5 wide tires in all gears, all ranges!

the ac compressor is going to work fine in stock 5.3 position

also the corvette oil pan is going to work with the removal of about two inches of the driverside wing to clear the front driveshaft

Wow, how'd you pull that off? Almost every install I've seen requires hacking up the frame rail on that side to clear the compressor. Looks like you have loads of room. I was planning on leaving mine off because of this. Maybe I'll have to slap it back on now.

Let me know if the engine feels sluggish down low. I may have a fix for it.
