Default 2 5/8" guages in Center vents on 99 Camaro

Will the 2 5/8" guages fit in the center vents on the 4th gen camaro just like they do on the trans am? I want to mount my tranny temp guage there. If not where is a popular place to mount guages for the Camaro?

I have never really been a big fan of the pillar. Was curious if anybody had fabbed up a way to mount them in the vent area even though the vents are not round like the trans am.

Not thinking that would work so well. I'd just go with a pillar.

I can see something working with 2-1/16th gauges, but not 2-5/8ths

Thanks man. Those threads are a big help. I think I am going to fab something up for down in front of the shifter.

That looks pretty good too. What did you use to make that plate that the guages are mounted in and how did you secure it up there?
