Default Ls1 Coil Packs

Has anybody actually had a coil pack failure, if so how much did it cost? I've been subscribed to this board for a while, but reading the posts much longer.. and I don't ever recall reading about a failed coil. Thanks!

I think I have on going bad. I can get it at O'reilly auto parts for about $22. Of course I am the assistant manager too so that helps. I think retail price is about 40 bucks for a borg warner brand. AC delco might be alittle higher.

How can you tell when they go bad? Regular missfire SES pops up?

Since no one ever answered NHRATA01, I will TTT this thread. I have a problem with my car that I cannot seem to figure out, and want to explore all options before I start throwing parts at it in hopes of fixing it.

I've rarely seen them go bad, have you swapped one around and see if the problem followed the coil?

That's kind of my thoughts, I have never heard anyone metion one going bad. I just have an intermittent "stumble" that I cannot track down. I think if it were a coil pack, it wouldn't do it in just 1st gear. I was just hoping someone knew a way of testing voltage or resistance so I can see if all 8 of my coil packs are up to par. It would be one more thing I could rule out.
