Picked up the ss yesterday from the paint shop blew my 4L60E 12:30 this morning on I1
I was racing a Cobra Stang and after getting on it I hit the rev limiter (it was obviously slipping and then came the boom smoke, and noises which comes from losing a tranny. It literally exploded, the tail shaft broke off, headers came loose and some wire is hanging from under it. Now comes a brand new 4L60E and stall conv't . Monday I'll order the tranny (brand new) and prolly a good used low mile 3200 stall if anyone has one for a reasonable price.

ya it was slipping. I took it to Lance's Pro Plus for this very same issue aver the summer and he said it was just a tranny fuse. Guess he was wrong. It did stop doing it for a while though but it did hit the rev limiter before it blew out. I was going waay too fast and with the headers and exhaust by the time I actually heard and felt it I guess it was too late.

Thanx for the tip agrv8d. I'll look into that as well. I know I have to do something with it tomorrow b/c I refuse to have it sit in my garage any longer b/c I'm leaving out for work on Wednesday and will be out for three or four weeks. Will I have to change my wiring harness to adapt to a 4L80E ?

This is the bad part that hurts the most, I was following one of my buddies (after repeatedly whipping his *** in his slow 350z) and he passed the exit we were taking, we u turn at Fry road and get back on 10 East and this Cobra was flying at about 110+, I was merging on at 65-70 ,pass my friend, cross over two lanes and just punched it, it lunged for a while and it hit the rev limiter (obviously slipping at 125) and it blew. I think I was still about 3-4 cars behind the Cobra before it happened so unfortunately I lost this one fella's

I just crawled under and took a better look. The Y pipe and headers needs to be rewelded together. The force broke the weak weld spot where they were tacked together but the y and headers are fine. The wire is dragging on the ground though (i guess that controls the speedo b/c after it blew I had was inop.

Dude come check my car out if you have a sec. Big boy ridez in North east Houston hooked me up. My car looks factory, you cannot tell it was repainted. I had hella minor dings and scratches and an aftermarket hood. He is slllloooooww but damn good and affordable. No Maaco or Miracle crappy bs. I will refer him to anyone. pm me for more info.
