budget for about $2000 for a cam swap using quality parts.
my setup
custom cam: $300
morel billet lifters: $450 (Comp Rs suck. these lifters will last a long time)
pushrods: $180
PAC1518 valvesprings, chromoly retainers: $200 (bought off someone, new in box)
pro mag 1.6 rockers, 7/16" studs, trickflow guideplates: $200 (bought used)
might as well get a new opti and timing chain while you're at it. I dont have enough cash to upgrade to a vented opti with the new front cover and LT4 extreme duty timing chain, but it would be a good idea. add another $500 or so for those.
throw in timing cover gasket set, I think like $15. plus intake manifold gaskets.
I'm using 42lb injectors (yes, overkill) that I got for $200 used.
a PCM tune will be around $100.
Im probably forgetting a few things.

Joe O. billet cam, $350. All the rest, as mentioned by those above? I don't want to think about it. LOL
