Cam grinds with top-end power AND street manners?
Currently I have a TR224 (112) in my '99 M6 Firehawk with 3.42s. I love the low and midrange from this cam, but I'd like a little more duration to widen my powerband at the top end. The street manners of my TR224 are almost too perfect; easy to drive, very little surge, great idle characteristics, cold starts are cake.
I'm eyeballing several popular grinds right now:
MMS229 v.2.1 (114 LSA)
Raging 230: 230/230, .572/.572 lift, 111 LSA
MTI X1
I'm thinking life will be a little easier with a single-pattern cam to compliment the ARE S1 heads and LS6 intake already on the car. Because my car is daily driven and I'm adding 4.11s shortly, I want a grind that can work the best of both worlds; a cam that adds more top-end but doesn't sacrifice much midrange and actually holds an idle well. Your experience with any of the above grinds? <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />
