Default big bang 305

Hey guys what do you suggest that i do to get the most bang out of my 305. it is currently a stock motor. I am planning to pull the motor soon and rebuild it but I dont want to have to do it more then once in a short amount of time. What are some good aftermarket parts to give it alot of power?

dont pull it out to rebuild it,honestly bro! get a 350 and build that and still drive the 305 around....why spend the same money for less performance?

yeah ive heard that from alot of people, and that is what i wanted to do from the beginning but people talked me out of it. if i were going to swap it with a 350, what should i do? another reason i was just gonna redo the 305 was because i have it already

350 all the way,the 305 is a good engine but will be more costly in the
what type of car is this motor being rebuilt for, whats the intended use etc.
most of all how much do you want to spend?

Damn, you can pick up a 350 block for next to nothing. You can get a BS 350, 87+ with the roller tappets allready drilled, pick up the OE roller equipment off Ebay of a LT1 oit of a scrap yard. Then get the cheap *** LT4 hot cam, put whatever heads you want on it and it will run its *** off. But if you get vortec heads or some cheap SR torquers you would do WAY better.

BOOT to the 305.

its going be put into a 83 Monte Carlo and i want to keep it carb'd. i want to do it cheap but not dirt cheap. i can pick up a complete but disassembled 350 4 bolt main from this guy around me. the only prob i had was that i didnt want to have to buy an engine that needed to be pressure tested on top of what im already paying for the engine.

Man, it is worth it to get a 350. A 305 can run, but a 350 will fly.

Big block would fly even faster

For the cost of a 350 I would go that route man.

I had a 305 in my camaro and it ran 15.8 every time. Then I put a LT1 in it with a cam and headers and Its not even right yet and it ran 12.6. I think it was worth it to get a 350 instead of a 305.

If you take your time and stick it out, you can have a very strong running motor in time.

Go 350 man, its a good investment.

****, a place in Dalla Tx sell short blocks for 650 plus core. Thats 755 without a core for a short block with flat tops. Not a bad deal at all.
