how much is the average charge to get it replaced?

98 trans am...

just want a price so i wnt get ripped.

yeah im doing mine myself, pulled motor. had to switch kmember/oil pan gasket anyways so why not. its a biotch

i dont know about $200, most shops would charge that just to drop the tranny

It will be about the same price as a clutch/converter swap, since the same amount of work is required. If you have a new clutch or converter to install, do them at the same time to save a little.
