I am redoing my motor for my dirt track car and I need some input on heads right now I am running a set of 041 heads that are ported a little a 510 lift cam and .150 dome piston but I am getting out ran bad so I need some input on a cheap set of heads. I was looking at some vortecs cause i cant afford a set of world heads right now. Can anyone help me out with a cheap set up?

Are you IMCA sanctioned or Barnett? How many cubic inches do you have? What size track do you run at? What rear gear's do you have? What are the track conditions like: dry slick or tacky? What are the complete specs of the cam that you are useing? What class dirt track car do you run in?

I have 355ci and the track rules dont even allow the heads I have but people basically go by run what you bring and hope its enough. The track is a 3/8 mild bank that varys from slick as hell to dry as hell every weekend. I am running 2.73 gears with a th350 and am about to change to 4.11 with a saggy 3 speed. I dont really know the specs for the cam a buddy of mine helped me build the motor since it was my first one and he dont remember and neither do I we just remember it was in the 500 to 510 lift range from speedway motors.

If they don't let you run the 041's then they will never allow you to run a set of vortec's. What rear end are you useing? What class of car are you driving? 2 barrel carb or 4 barrel? Even the 4.10's are way to small, depending upon some of my question's asked, I would use something deeper. Are you useing a hyd flat tappet cam or a solid flat tappet cam? I have a sponsored car in a Sport Mod IMCA class car useing the same heads you have with no porting and we have the (2 barrel 500cfm carb) 360cid motor spinning 7000-7200 rpm (depending on the track).
