Default Theft deterrent sensor?

I'm removing the stock monsoon system from my 2000 TA vert to install a complete aftermarket system. .When I removed the factory amp, there was a small black box connected to it. It has a sticker that says theft deterrent shock sensor. Is this a sensor just for the amp? Do I need to keep it plugged in?

Thats the cars alarm, nothing to do with the amp. Mine's mounted on the wheel well though, not on the amp.
