Procharger on a stock LS1
Relax FI veterans...this is not a question....just wanted to share the results of a DISC high flow system on my LS1 for the newbies like me! Personally, I like those type of questions...this is a big investment and commitment, and one should research it as much as possible.
Anyway, the car is a 2000 Formula with 34000 miles. Rock stock except for a lid and a Borla cat-back. AIR and EGR still hooked up with stock cats and y-pipe. Dyno before the install.......316 rwhp and 327 rwtq.
Install included the D1SC, 8-rib system, 4.5 intercoolers, fuel system upgrade, 65 lb injectors, and tuning. I did also have a set of 1.75" long tubes with high flow cats installed at the same time. Everything else remained which included the stock LS1 intake, heads, cam, valve springs, rod bolts, EGR and AIR hooked up, and stock clutch ....Dyno after install with headers......487 rwhp and 433 rwtq.
I am pretty happy with the results, especially for a stock vehicle with all the emissions stuff still hooked up. Driveability is about the same prior to install. I haven't got to beat on it real hard, as the weather is real bad out now. And obviously, longevity remains to be seen. The tune is pretty safe, so it should be good for a while. We shall see. The headers kind of bum me out in that there is some interference with them. As a result, the vibrations is a bit aggravating. That will be remedied in the future.
So, how long do you think my stock clutch will last??

Awesome number man! I will be going FI myself this coming year. However Im still trying to decide on a system. How much boost are you making? Do you have a graph of the dyno? At what RPM did the numbers peak?

Nice numbers!!! I'm currently in the works with Bob on ordering my D-1SC w/FMIC setup and your post really seals the deal for me to decide to go this route! Can't wait till my time comes! Enjoy the car!

I've been saving my pennies for awhile too!!! But when I do it, its gonna be a new rear, cam and maybe head's too! Should really wake up the car...Oh and I already have full suspension and exhaust so not gonna worry about that. Nice numbers too!! Im shooting for 500hp with a D1SC on 8psi with a moderate tune. But it all goes back to what I said in the beginning----saving my pennies!

Is this kit 50 state smog legal?? I ask because I live in CA and our smog laws suck. I want to go FI with in the next few months and still don't know what kit I want. I am leaning towards a Procharger.
