need to swap out my SLP LM....SLP DD or Hooker???
I am just sick of the raspy-raw sound of GROTTYOHANN headers, 3 inch OR y-pipe, and a SLP Loudmouth. I don't need a stainless steel exhaust since the car only comes out in good weather. I like the SLP Performance Parts Dual Dual because it sounds good without cats and with headers, pretty much no rasp, BUT PRICEY! I haven't heard a HOOKER catback though. I have been told it sounds sweet with headers and without cats, plus you can drop the rear assembly(muffler/tailpipes)once you're at the track or a little HP gain and weight reduction too. Also, the Hooker is CHEAP $$$ TOO!
Did Corsa solve their welding issues with the mufflers yet? I know they had many issues with the mufflers falling apart internally when the catalytic converters are removed.

I had an SLP DD. It was too quiet IMO. I'd vote for the Hooker over the DD.
Or, you could try replacing the LM resonator with a Dynomax Ultra-Flo welded race muffler or race bullet. That would reduce the rasp a lot. Also very cheap.

I was in the same boat with my SS. My FLP/LM combo drove me nuckin' futs. I swapped it out for the SLP D/D. At idle it sounded barely louder than stock (very stealthy for street racing). But once it got above 3k, it opened up nicely. I was very happy with the sound...my only complaint was the addtional weight...the D/D is a HEAVY bitch.

I was in the same boat with the LM, I went with the Hooker and love the tone. And yes you can drop it at the track in about 15 mins.

you can also weld up 2 flowmaster one chambers right before the tail pipes. I did that last week and 95% of the rasp is gone.

Yo, 14u2nv...I sent you a pm. I have a hooker catback you might be interested in. I'll sell it pretty cheap too. It'll sound badass with your setup.

RPM WS6 is right! The SLP DD is too quiet. Thats what I have right now with LT's and no catz and I am quieter than my old setup with Borla, stock manifolds W/catz! I would suggest the Hooker catback.

it's not too quiet with headers and an ORY. Dudes, read his post.

Re: need to swap out my SLP LM....SLP DD or Hooker???
cost me $60 per muffler and $20 per weld.
total $160. would have been more but I did most of the cutting.

I'm deaf and with just the LM it's loud enough. I'm not particurally fond of the pitch--maybe that's it. Much perfer the LT1 sound...but don't we all?
