Default Can you have your PCM reprogrammed with a new vin?

I am doing a A4-M6 swap... and Im gonna need a new PCM... but my LS1Edit is on my A4 PCM. Can I have the vin from car put in the M6 PCM so I can still use edit?

Thanks

If you can find a M6 file with the same block code as yours (search this forum for more info), you can simply program over the top of your PCM with the new one, and it will work.

If you change VINs in the PCM, you'll need your cable re-flashed by Carputing to mate with the 'new' PCM. So I'd suggest trying to find a matching M6 code. I have a few, and there are some at http://www.ls1edit.com in the FTP archives, so post up with your ID and maybe someone here can help.

HTH,

Andrew

FYI, VIN changes are being discussed for the new version of EFILive.
