Default New LS1 and have a question

I just picked up a 99 LS1 Z28 (auto). 185000 miles on it, runs good and all.

A ported throttle body was included with the car, I dont know whether to sell it or put it on.

How much is a ported TB worth? or will the gains be noticeable on a nearly stock (lid & exh. cutout) engine?

a ported throttle body is a good start in mods . if it was done right it should be worth 5 extra ponies to the wheel . might want to get a brass 3/8 fitting from home depot while you are at it and do a tb bypass .
good luck with your purchase !

Install it. Also check to see if the bump stop mod was done as well. When I ported my tb, the biggest difference I noticed was in the throttle response. Then I did the bump stop mod and I noticed more of an improvement at WOT. Just my experience anyway. Ported throttle bodies only sell for about $80, which is next to nothing, as far as mods go. You could sell the stock one on ebay also. Another option is to install the ported tb to see if it makes a difference, if you don't think it is worth it, sell it after you tested it. Swapping them out is an easy task. Good luck and have fun with the new toy!

Forgot to add my Z has 185xxx miles on it!!!!!!!!!!

So I might do headers (it already has a cutout and intake) just to make it sound nice but modding not going to dish out money into this car

Here's a pic of the port job, I put it up for sale for $110 but might pop it on (w/ TB bypass) shortly.

Just noticed this TB has the "bump stop" mod or whatever, so that just allows the plate to be completely horizontal right?
