what do IAC in park and in gear fields do?
isnt the whole reason for the IAC for the computer to controll the air at idle? that being said those parameters shouldnt have any affect on the actual position of the IAC at idle.
the only other thought that crossed my mind is that maybe thats what the computer keeps IAC at when its not idling to make the transition to idle smoother, and less prone to surge.
Is that what it does? if not then what?
thanks

I've been experimenting with those tables, and dammit, I can't get them to do anything that I want them to. Sometimes tweaking them 'seems' to help, but then the car goes back to acting funky. So, I don't know either. I've messed with the tables that deal with IAC vs speed the most, to try and keep a car from stalling when rolling to a stop. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't.

I think he means running airflow- which is the heading of the table.Eng Cal->Idle and Limits->Idle air->Running Airflow table.
