Default What is the most power you have made with a T4 T76?

Anyone pushing a T4 T76 to over 900rwhp? Anyone over 800rwhp?

There has been alot of debate on this.

My old Shop car with a 370ci engine and the TC76MPS turbo made 770rwhp on 15lbs of boost. Still alot left in the combo. Last I had heard Billy had put a set of bigger injectors on and was turning up the boost to see what the turbo had left in it. I havent heard about any new numbers yet.

Ive got a 03 Cobra on a stock motor, 76gts and th400 that traps 147 in the 1/4. The car is 3620 raceweight, so I say it is making some power.

Similar here. 146 in the quarter at 3750 lb with a TH350, not maxed out. Auto screws up the dyno numbers.

With a 6 speed on 19 psi it made 800rwhp, put the auto in and same boost and it made 660 rwhp. At 19 psi on the track it goes about 140 mph on 23 psi it goes 147.

I put down 700 on only 10 lbs so going over 800 is not a problem here.

I voted for 700-800rwhp b/c I bought a PTK kit from my buddy with a 76gts upgraded to a 80gts and made close to 800rwhp on a 408. So with the 76gts on a bit smaller cubes I am sure numbers would be similar if not more.

I think that's close to the same as a 76GTS except it has a slightly larger turbine minor diameter. The 76GTS turbine exducer is 2.96" (85 trim) while the R-trim is 3.20" (100 trim). I'm not sure what other implications go along with having a 100 trim and if it's even better. One thing is for sure - you HAVE to use a 3.5" or bigger downpipe with the R trim. Zombie proved that one.

Also, I thought that since R came before S in the alphabet (last time I checked), then the R wheel would be smaller. But that's neither here nor there.

I think the larger a/r housing will help some in moving the choke point of that turbo when compared to a .96a/r.

I don't find that to hard to believe considering I got 700whp @ only 10 lbs boost. Given the average scale of 25 whp per lb of boost that would put my setup @ 900 rwhp on 18lbs of boost.

According to both Jose at forcedinductions.com and Rick from the now defunct Innovative turbo, the R trim is worth extra flow over the GTS wheel. The negative to it is that it is a very heavy wheel and slower to spool and no longer in production. The short 3" downpipe that I used on mine absolutely killed the flow potential of it even thought it was a max of 48" in length and had no bend greater than 15 degrees. It also appears that the flow limit of this wheel with a proper downpipe is limited to the 750 RWHP range with a .81 a/r. My max trap speed was 134.5 MPH with it @ 19psi with a raceweight between 3800-3850lbs. Trap speed on 17 psi was in the 133 MPH range. I'm on a .96 a/r housing now and expect to see a increase in trap speed due to increased power.
