Default How do y'all ship small items??

I sold a center cap on here for $10shipped. I tried to send out via UPS today and they wanted $14.XX. WTF? I was only sending it to brownsville. Also a few days ago I sent out my bullet mufflers to south carolina and they only charged $12.XX. Doesnt make sense to me.

USPS (post ofice). It'll probably cost you less than $2 to ship it.

UPS checked what USPS would be and they said it would be $7.XX. Better, but still gay. I'm sure UPS adds some charges on there though.

UPS is lying to you. Check USPS's website or go into your local office and you'll see how cheap it is. I guarantee you that it's not going to be more than $5.

I run the shipping/receiving dept at my parts store, and we have a UPS shipper account....anything you ship is going to be minimum $5. We don't enter box dimesions, but at 1 lb, anything I ship, whether its across the street or across the state, will be minimum $4.xx with our discount. Sorry man, but you're gonna make about $4 off that cap, lol.

If you go to a UPS store you will get RIPPED OFF since they are franchises and the only way to make money is the upcharge which you never see. If it's something not valuable ship USPS because they are the cheapest by far. If the item has any value ship it UPS since they offer the absolute best value with the insurance package as long as it's packaged correctly. Keep in mind that all the companies use dimensional weight rather than actual weight now so a box that's 2lbs but very large can be billed as 40lbs etc, etc. The shipping companies have wised up and are looking at efficiency so the more they can put on the truck the better it is for them. My company spends over $3million with UPS every year and I have meetings with their executives once a month and I have explored every possible option as far as shipping goes and UPS still wins. Some people say Fedex, DHL, Blah blah..... I say UPS.. just like auto insurance.. you never know how good it is until you have a claim.
