Default Where should I post now?

So... i'm a bit confused...

I finally found out what happened to my engine and it seems I spun a rod bearing and had major valve float going on... apparentley all the pistons had been hit by the valves! YIKES!

Well... looks like i'm gonna end up going with an LQ4 now with other mods and such...

my question is... where the hell am i gonna post questions about that at now?

there's no LQ4 section on here... just the Gen III and Gen IV

well I have the iron truck block witch is pretty much identicle to the LS6 aluminum block. and it is an LS based engine, all your ls1 parts will bolt right up.

so if you put in this LQ4 block then everything will be the same with the exceptions of the iron block, more front weight, more cubic inch.

hope this helps, I just went throgh about the same ordeal.

Because I'm a car hypochondriac...I'm always worried I'm gonna blow something in my engine up, even with the stock parts.

Post in both! It is a Gen3 engine so everything from an LS1 applies ... you can also post in the Gen4 section because it is vitrually a low compression, iron block version of the LS2 (less the cam sensor and knock sensor locations).

are the knock sensors in the same location as the LS1? or in an easier place to get to?

Never let a buddy borrow your ride or your girl. They'll throw a rod in both.

The difference between the LS1 and the LQ4/LQ9 is Aluminum versus Iron block and 3.899" bore versus 4.00" bore, respectively. Everything else is identical.
