Default Alternator Squeak Help!!!

my alternator is squeaking. at first i thought it was the belts b/ci hadnt replaced them since i got the car but after i replaced those it still squeaked so i found out that a broke the bearing in the pully and i was wondering if their is anything i can do instead of buying a whole new one

Take it to someone in your area that can rebuild alternator's. They can put new bearings in for you and it shouldn't cost a whole lot. I would say at the very most it would be $50 but I think they will do it cheaper than that.

I think so, if you could find a rebuild kit. Might as well replace or have and extra voltage regulator lying around.

are you sure it's your alternator? Mine was making a nasty squealing noise sometimes on startup that sometimes goes away. I think what it is is the...forgot...search...oh yeah, the AIR system check valve or whatever it's called. I was looking into fixing it, but it stopped making the noise so I haven't done anything about it.

You said you replace the main serpentine belt, but did you replace your AC belt?

Mine was squeaking and for the life of me kept pissing me off... finally just looked down and realized I forgot about the tiny *** belt in the bottom lol

It could be the idler pulley as well. The factory GM idler pulley is garbage. Mine is squeaking and chirping as well. The one on my wife's 9-7x (same as the trailblazer) had to be replaced at 30,000 miles for the same reason.
