Default Cam for autoX? Fuel Injectors #?

So I'm getting screwed from every which way after this accident and I won't be getting **** for money so I'm going to do a heads and cam motor instead of a 383.

My questions are what kind of custom grind should I go with for a car that is mainly an autoXer and track day vehicle?

What size fuel injectors should I use?

And a updated fuel pump is def necessary!

I am not familiar with power down low cams but I will tell you to make sure your rules allow a h/c motor. You don't want to be put into a rank or class that you have no chance in. Stay away from the huge cams.

One of our customers ran a 224 cam in GTO that road raced. It was a great cam and matched with the trickflow heads made great power and pulls hard. He wins everywhere he goes now.

I ran a Thunder racing TR224 cam for 4 years in autox, it is a blast down low. I have a custom cam for autox now, 227/231 578/575.

With engine modification, that would put you into the SCCA/Solo Modify Street class...

I would recommend a cam that cam produce a lot of low end torque and will give you good throttle reponse. IMO a Good low end to mid-range cam is the way to go.

Depending on the course, you may get into the upper RPM Range, but most likely not for long.

Good HP and TQ are not as important as a great handling Car.. I used to do AutoX with my 84 Z28 in F Stock.. I was a mid of the pack driver.. my buddy who I crewed for was a national champ for 3 out of 5 year with his 84 Z28 (in both Solo and Road Race in the San Francisco regions). He would jump in my car after I would make my run and he would win the class. He would then jump in to the Winning Vette and beat the winning vette time just to **** them off. Bottom line, good HP/TQ and a great handling car are a must... but it is still not going to help you win the race.. LOL..

I've got plenty of suspension ****: strano springs, koni sas, strano 35mm sway bar, spohn subframe connectors, LG Panhard, LG control arms, and good driver mod. I just want something that will be pretty quikc on the street and work for autox and ****
