Default Headlight trouble with a twist

I have a 2002 TA and I'm having some trouble with my headlights. I've read some of the other headlight posts where the headlight moter spins after the lights have been turned off. I have that problem with my left headlight motor but something extra happens. When ever I lock or unlock my car both of the headlights motors activate and flip up. The headlights themselves are not on. If I take the fuse for the left headlight motor out of the fuse box in the engine compartment I don't have the problem, but trying to remember to put the fuse back in at night is a real headache. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance.

its a personalized setting if you have your owners manual it tells you
1. both lights flip and it honks
2. or just horn chirp and foglights blink
3. or nothing to comfirm
i think thats what they are or something in the matter, just look it up it tells you
i think its cycle the key on and off three times and youll get as many chimes as its set (ex. 1 chime is mode 1, 2 chimes heard its mode 2.. etc) press unlock or lock as many chimes as it takes to get the mode you want
hope i didnt confuse you

Yeah there's a system to programming, go here http://shbox.com/pdf/manuals.html and download the pdf manual for your car, in the 2002 TA manual it's page 2-21...but I thought even on a TA it'd only flash the parking lamps (and the fog lights if you left the switch on just like a Camaro).

When the headlight motors have problems, odd things happen including them opening and closing when locking the car.

Yes, you're right - the alarm system will never open the headlights unless the motor gears are stripped.

Default Thanks so much

Thanks for the info guys. It's looking like I need a new motor. The headlights only started flipping up with lock and unlock when the motor went south. Thanks again! Now to see if I can find a motor at a reasonable price.

It may just be the gear.

Default The fix worked!

I rotated the gear and it works wonderfully! And the lock/unlock hiccup went away! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
