Default pro 5.0 woah

Just got my pro 5.0 and installed it in my t-56 according to instructions. Took it for a drive and everything is fine until I try a hard acceleration run. I nail 3rd but when I speedshift 4th it grinds. After that I notice the shifter feels spongy. Luckily I still have 4th...for now. Do I need to try retightening the shifter housing bolts and stick bolts? Is it possible they could have come loose that quickly (15 min drive)? I know I have to get used to it as well but has anyone else had problems after adjusting the stops according to the instructions. I mean...second went in fine but 4th just flat out grinded and it doesn't usually do that.

I don't use the stop bolts. Try backing them off and see if the problem goes away. Also, when you install the rubber boot that seals to the floor pan, make sure it isn't getting pinched by the shifter.

Its possible that you set the stop bolts up incorrectly. Try it again, all you need to do is put it in 3rd and then set the bolt so it almost touches the stick when engaged. Repeat process for 4th gear. Good luck!

after i installed mine i noticed when i was hard shifting it would want to downshift instead of shift in the gear i wanted to go into, turned out i didnt have the screw from the shaft to the base wasnt tight at all, so tightened it up and it shifts like a dream now, dunno if that helps

The stick bolts weren't tight enough

^ Hmm I should probably make sure mine are tight. I just put mine in last night and I didn't tighten them, but it feels good so?

I think you should use just a very small dab of thread lock.
