while i am very hopeful that this is true, i'm hesitant to accept with open arms... the Holden uses a slightly different version of the LS2, without cylinder deactivation. and they have the manual tranny already.
but again, i am hopeful. just tuning for premium should make a nice jump too

Same engine as the G8, so its a pretty good comparison. And it seems to be the norm over there when all this is done.

Exactly right.
Here's a cam swap from Australia. The cam gear is a 1 bolt, this change was added when GM came out with cylinder deactivation and applied to all their V8 engines. A 3 bolt gear would need to be installed to run an aftermarket LS1 cam, all are 3 bolt currently. All LSX cars made from 10/06 and newer have the 1 bolt design.

It also looks like the crank pulley is from the Corvette.

Almost same setup GenIV 4" block with L92 heads, its just other stuff like DOD and Sump etc that differ L76 to L98

I hadn't bought the GTO I would be looking at a G8 in a few years, but I can't see parting with the GTO for one. I'm just glad we're getting another Holden.
