Florida Members - Ordered a larger cam

Mike(KwiksilverZ) and I spent the afternoon Saturday replacing the oil pan gasket and the valve seals. We used Comp Cams units this time, so hopefully they will stay seated. We also tried to install some shiney new Harland Sharp 1.8s. HS claims they fit 97 to 04, but We ended up not installing them for fear of clearance issues.

So Mike made me order a larger cam. :bang: So I picked up a new cam that a performance shop ordered for a guy that ended up not buying it. It is a Futral cam 230/234 .598/.601 112+4.

If that doesnt work I guess the next step is to upgrade the bottom end and heads. Or jsut go 408.

What Springs are you using?
That cam with the 1.8 rocker would have been 633/636 lift and many springs wouldn't have liked that much.
That is a great overall cam.

Yes. its all Mikes fault and I am sticking to that.

I have Patriot extremes on there, but I am not using the 1.8s with this cam.

Payback. He drags me to his dyno tune, and gets a couple hp less than my blower setup, and then eclipses it with spray. So, I just got done with more boost and a cam. He is afraid I will just walk away from him. :) I just did not like the Harland Rockers, and him and I could swap a cam in a couple hours....

If I remember correctly thats how I ended up with the first cam. Seems Mike drug me to his dyno tune.

The cam is on its way. I am off Thursday, I may get started. I am not feeling too good right now though, I may be coming down with something.

You and me both. I feel ok but my nose thinks it is in a marathon...

We doing the cam this sunday or next?

I am actually on call, so have to play it by ear this weekend. Next Sunday might be better. Although I am kinda anxious to get it in. I am thinking of starting on it Thursday(off and not on call), the guy shipped the cam this morning from Atlanta, maybe it will be in by then.

The other stuff will be here thursday too. :)
