If you are talking about the TA Performance Aluminum rear end covers/girdles, tehn yes, they are supposed to help a stock 10/12 bolt by supporting the bearing better plus they also provide a tapped drain plug on most of them.

Don't waste your money on the 10 bolt.

Well if its a $100 and it will make it last longer, then why not? Some people have had their 10 bolts last into the 10's and 11's. So for people to assume they are POS's because of STORIES they have read, should go drive their car more. I would do it. It serves a purpose, and if you cant afford a 9'' or a 12 bolt, than its some insurance. Trickflow makes a nice piece.

Alot of people weld additional brackets on them and brace the axle tubes with units that look like adjustable LCAs to reduce the flex during hard acceleration. They say this flexing of the axles throws off the alignment angle of the pinion/ring gear assembly. Some of them run 10s with no trouble. They are A4s though not M6s.

Bump for this thread...anyone else have thoughts to share on this. I too am willing to toss an extra $150 at my 10 bolt if it will get me a little further! I love the 9" rear, however am not excited about the thought of losing ABS.

if your rears going to break .. its guna break.. i doubt a TA cover will make it "STRONGER".. that $100 could go toward saving for a new rear?
