vengeance cam just get a real good tune and it will have great daily driveability and make way more power than the two others. BTW I wouldn't even consider the GM hot cam its way outdated, about the only positive thing about it is its very easy on valve springs.

I would take my patriot 226 over the tr224 anyday..sounds WAY meaner and from a couple of races with tr224 cars it pulls harder.

Tough not to go with the Vengeance VRX3 out of the three choices listed above; I've heard nothing but very good things about that cam. That was my #1 choice, however I changed my plans a bit because I got a steal of a deal on a similar cam.

I would atleast put a 3K stall in... That will help kill some of your dead spots!

I have a hotcam and springs ready to go in..it was free, gifted
from a relative.

I've seen lots of posts and opinions about this particular cam.
I just want reliability with some improved power.

This cam has very low mileage, but I did ride in the car it was in
and it had more sustained low end torque and seemed to hold nice
through the powerband..It seemed very jumpy..which is good.

My f-body already kicks my bigblocks ***...also f-body is my DD.

more opinions on the hotcam...? anyone's particular gain from hotcam
I've heard some say as much as 39rwhp .

the most it has ever made cam only if I remember correctly was around 395 rwhp, but that was with ewp and ALL the bolt ons ie" 90/90, UD pulley" Average more like 360-70.

Thanks for the input...My f-body is on the high mileage side of life
and as you stated ...it's easy on the valve springs.

Trying to guage some opinions on whether to keep the hotcam
for it's ease on motor..or upgrade a bit.

360-370 and some longevity sounds good.

the 224 cam is already a proven cam!! but out of those 3 i would go with the vengeance racing cam. vengeance racing has been making sick power lately!!

+1 for a small stall, that and either the vengeance or the tr224 would make for a fantastic daily driver with some torque all over the range.

I would look into Patriots cam and heads combo. LS6 heads and a 225/229 on a 114 LSA which is about the same range your looking at anyways. Its looks like a really good deal.

def the TR224, dont pick a cam (hot cam) that is almost the same as the stock cam, if you are going to do it, do it right, both a proven cams (vengance and tr224)

I would go with the Vengeance cam, I am not a fan of the TR224, I like the Hot Cam but they both perform about the same and the Hot Cam sounds better and Ive seen better times and mph out of the Hot Cam (1/4 mile) out of them 2. Vengeance stuff is prove.

I'd throw out our Texas Speed 228R as well. With just .581"/.581" lift @.050, you don't need a huge expensive spring to get by either. These lobes from Comp have proven themselves time after time to make great steetable power!

Shoot me a PM or phone call and we can discuss your individual needs and get you taken care of!

I also say go with a small stall you will be glad you did. Also check out the comp 224/230 on a 114, its a great daily street cam.

Get a stall. A smaller one isn't bad at all for a daily and will work nicely with the cam
