Default Got use of a bore gage for free... brand new... questions...

It's not an expensive Mitutoyo or Starret, but it is new.

Precision is to .0005", range is 2" to 6".

The thing cost $90.

Now, is it good enough to do the job or is it really worth it to fork over $600 for a Starret if you're only going to blueprint a few motors in your lifetime?

I plan on blueprinting cylinders and mains with it, I'll use a micrometer or caliper to do the outside diameters of the crank and rod journals.

The precision of the tool to 0.0005" is fine.
