factory rated them at 450# torque

guys have driven them well into the 500rwhp range.

all depends on how you abuse it, and some luck

kindda like guys breaking the 10bolt with stock power, other guys run 10s with them.

i say they can handle 600rw reliably and you can floor it at even 800 and not expect it to break

track passes over 600 and you will be replacing parts every couple seasons if raced consistently

The one in my Procharged 99frc with 700RWHP lasted over a year until I sold it no problems. I had a basic rebuild/upgrade Syncros, Steel 3/4 shift fork nothing major less than 1000.00 total bill prior to the procharged install.. The trans is still in the car now with a tt kit @ 680rwhp 2-1/2 years and 25,000 miles still fine. I ran low 10's @ 137+ numerous times @ the track but I only launched easy (1.65 60ft's) on Drag Radials. 100's of street races but your not gonna hook hard enough on asphault to break the trans.

We just built one a little while back that was put in a 920 rwhp C5. Holding up just fine with the proper upgrades.

The key to making them last is how you shift. Powershifting is what wears them out.

In stock form in a car weighing 3600-3800 lbs , I've got customers running 600+ rwhp through them . Anything more than about 700rwhp is really pushing it although I have seen people get away with it using a light clutch setup and not drag racing it hard .

what physically breaks in the transmission after 700rwhp when you drag race? or are you saying it just wears out fast and starts grinding?

Output shaft. You can up-grade to a viper output shaft which would significantly beef it up.

Nice carnage ......... I've worked on a few of those before but have never killed one myself . I have however killed a few Tremec 5 speeds in my day along with numerous T5's .
