9" Question!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey,
Would a "stock" 9" case be strong enough to put behind a ~ 400rwhp "99 T/A A4 with possibly a 100 wet shot w/ window switch?
Got a couple leads on 3rd members but I want to know if they will crack too easily.
Thanks in advance!!

People have ran more power than that on a stock housing, if you mean on stock center sections I am sure they have been ran with more power than that also.
How durable they are or will be down the road is hard to say ,I know the after market ones are stronger and better quality.

it should be fine in a a4 car especially. the stock cases will break at the tail bearing shroud, or if enough power is put to it i have seen them pull the entire front of the case out around the pinion support bolts. that is common with cars with transbrakes and high stall converters with a good amount of power. if i were you i'd still be saving for at least a Strange "s" case or the Moser ultra light. the Strange case retails for 229.00 and the Moser case is 235.00. Strange rates theirs at 850 hp.
problem is... just like a 10 bolt... if you break it its gonna cost way more to fix it than if you would have paid for the good stuff from the beginning.

Stock Case is usually good for around 350hp. Especially if it going to be abused. If you are planning on racing the car I would at least step up to a Nodular Iron Street Case. Let me know we have them available.
