Default What are my stock heads?

What are my stock heads called and what would be a good set for daily drivers?
Maybe having them ported?

Your stock heads are casting#806 and are known as perimeter bolt heads. You can have those ported if you don't mind the downtime and know someone who's good with a die grinder. But I would look into some CNC ported 5.3 or LS6 heads from one of the site sponsors. If you decide to get new heads you will need to get the 99-up centerbolt valve covers and coil brackets. Are you planning on doing a cam upgrade also?

for daily driving you'll want to keep the runner size as small as possible.

I'd recommend the AFR 205's or the Patriot Predator 200's.

I agree, mill 'em down a little for a little more compression.

What about a set of dart 205's, aren't they relatively affordable? They would seem to be a good head for a daily driver with (assuming) a mild cam!
