Sometime in the future I would like to get a cam and heads for my car. I've been trying to read the stickies and understand all the things that go into this. So far I think I've found what looks to be ok for a car that's gunna be DD, but I wanted to find out for sure.

I was looking at this cam, comp cams 218 / 224 .527 / .534 114

would they work well with each other? Also what else do I need to factor into this. Should I work on getting LT's first. Does the transmission need built up for this cam or should it be able to handle it?

definatley need longtubes first, that and an ls6 intake. you can have the best flow numbers in the world on heads but if you cant get air in and out of them then theres not much difference

first liink doesn't take ya anywhere. just cut/paste the duration/lift/lobe

anything from 224 to low 23x will work for a daily driver. figure 380-400rwhp with cam only

throw heads on there and expect 430-450rwhp

Power/Modifications is addicting. I think about a year after you install that combination you wish you had gone bigger. Livernois heads are great but I recommend stage 2, and with that a 228 to 230 cam is better suited. There are plenty of very streetable combinations out (much of it is in the tuning). What you've chosen will work well together, but if you want to do it only once go bigger. Good Luck.

get the longtubes first.most bang for the buck.for a dd just put on a set of stock 243's and a cam in 224-228 range,dont forget to put an ls6 intake too,stock 98 intakes are junk.If you need anything give us a call,we can help you out,got good prices on parts installs and tunes.

Do you mean 243cc flowing LS1 heads? I'm sorry I'm still new to this and don't follow sometimes. And yea my next mod was probably going to be an LS6 intake.

Wow you guys a pretty close I'll definately be giving you guys a call when it comes time for all of this. It's still a long ways off but I figured I should research and get opinions now so when it comes time i do know what I want and what to get.

243 is the casting number on the heads,243's are LS6 heads,a stock set of LS6 heads will make some really good power for not much money.We will help out any way we can

Oh ok. Thanks. yea like I said I definately don't have th funds for this right now, but I'm working on that. Hopefully sometime this year I'll be able to get enough $$$ for it.

a 224-228 are streetable cams for an A4?
