I realize that you cannot reuse the main headbolts but can I reuse the others?
I have the cash the get a whole new set (of 30) bolts if it comes down to that...I just dont want to spend 150 if I dont have too.

This is my first head swap and I do not want to make any costly mistakes. Am I taking a gamble reusing my other bolts? or should I just get a whole new head bolt set?

stop, no, and don't, just buy new ARP's at least stocker 1 WILL brake and its about 3" in the hole save the headache and spent the bill

if i understand your question right, and I remember right, yes, you can reuse the smaller (top row) head bolts, but not the longer ones (bottom two rows).

bassically saying that u can not use the big bolts. its worth the money to just buy arps and not have to worry bout it. take it frm sumone that has bought 3sets of stockers i could have arps with the money i have already spent on head bolts

NO.

GM bolts are TQ to yield bolts. Meaning, after you TQ them once they stretch and thats it.

Spend the extra 75 bux and get yourself a set of head studs. Stronger, MUCH easier to install, and you'll never have to buy another set of head bolts again.

oh and a recommendation....... get a tap also. clean the holes out so you get a proper torque on the bolts

what the heck is a tap? I spent many hours cleaning out the head bolt holes...

I ordered two head bolt kits today....
