Default possible plug gap problem....

Burnt up one of my wires so i decided to just get new plugs and wires all together(TR-55s and MSDs). Now heres the problem. When i changed plugs about a year ago i changed my gap to .35(tuner said to) and this time i went back to my factory .60 for no real reason at all. When the car was tuned it was tuned at .35, and now at WOT in the higher RPMs my car will backfires pretty bad, is the spark being blown out and should i just go back to .35? I didnt think a tune would have much to do with the gap. Also I broke one of the TR-55s, would it be ok to replace it with a TR-5? Just a smaller grounding strap?

any help would be appreciated, thanks

First let me ask, why would someone tell you to go .035 on your car? What type of setup are you running. Your sig doesn't say much.

.035 is too low and .060 is WAAAAAAAAY to much. You need to back the gap back down. And no, do not put a different heat range plug mixed in with 7 other plugs.

Its just bolt ons, .60 is factory, and the first plug change i wasnt at home, so i couldnt check, so i just asked the guy. and it ran fine..... And a Tr-5 and TR-55 are the same heat range, the ground strap is different

A Tr5 was the only NGK plug i could find...untill I went 1/4 down the street to oriellys and they have the TR55...so NM about that. But you pretty much answered my question. I will probably go to .40 or .45. NGK said .60(at least at the WS6store)..then at advanced auto it said .40 for the TR5 and now on NGK.com it calls for .44 for the TR55
