Default Who would you call to touch up some cylinder heads...

I am thinking about getting my cylinder heads touched up while the clutch is out. Who would you send them to?

depends on the money you want to spend. GTP will get you the top of the line cyllinder heads w/ a flow sheet. if you just need a "cleanup" job as in a valvejob, guides, seals, new valves, and some minor port work, you can either take the time and learn it yourself, or look for somone that is comfortable making these kinds of changes w/ the help of a good machine shop.

One of the things I will say about GTP is that they have played around with their vavle jobs to find which agles make better flow. If anyone doesn't believe that matters, look at a GTP flowsheet. One of the secrets is the valve job. A god valave job can mean 20cfm. Whoever you decide to go with make sure they can do some nice seats instead of some production shop" crummy job with wide angles and poor flow.

Agreed... Joe just did a valve change on my GTPs with his special spec valves and we picked up an average of 4 cfm across the board

TEA is good, but it may be too expensive for what you are looking for

FOr the money, nothing beats a Patriot head. They flow as good as TEA heads for a lot less. they cost $1295 from Texas Speed and Performance and they don't require a core. HEck, they will even buy your old heads for $200. TEA's ar $1700 + the core. If you got the dough go with GTP or ARE heads. They are the best. They use smaller cylinder ports and flow more at a higher speed which helps with throttle reponse and torque.

Since you are east coast, I would send them to Jay at Absolute Speed. No one has proven better thus far.
