For the last few months i have been working on my project truck which i call "Dream Truck". It is a custom built tube chassis for air ride and a 02 c5 corvette drivetrain and suspension. I am not nearly done and still have tons to do but i thought i would share all my hard work. In a month or two i will be going through the motor and making a few upgrades and preping the motor for a set of turbos that is coming its way. Enjoy

Awesome looking work! Your frame jig looks like it took more time to build than the the actual frame... Are you planning to make more frames?

Yeah the frame jig took a while because i wanted it perfectly square and level. After i got it where i wanted it i bolted it down so it couldn't move. I am hoping to build some more frames. I would like to get into the hot rod industry building some fully custom rides. My game plan is if my truck comes out how i expect it too then i will start building hot rods part time then work my way into full time. I wish i could just dive into it but got to pay the bills first. Anyways thanks for the complements

I would love to do the same thing. My problem is that I have no time to build up the fabricating skills. I have a fair amount of equipment, but find it hard to find time to use it.

Did you bend the rails or mitre and weld? I can't tell from the pics.

I mitred the 2x4 tubing and i bent the 1.5" round tubing.

Well i finally got the frame off the frame jig. It was alot of work getting it off the frame jig but well worth it in the end. Anyways here are a few pics

Badass, I'm always on the fence of grafting a C4 rear section in my 70's frame. But your frame jig is a nice looking alternative

yeah, your welds look really good. sharp work. i love the way you kept the torque tube rather than using an F-body t56. unique.

Any update on this? Would love to:
1. know if this can actually be used as a truck (tow a boat, etc) or more light duty like an ElCamino

Well the sad update on this is it is on hold. I started calculating the total $ to finish it the way i wanted (twin turbo LSx, 6piston brakes and so on). I had some extra parts from before i decided to the C5 swap so i decided to build another truck and then sell it to fund this project. I think that made sence. I don't know if i would tow with it but i am sure if that was a priority you could build it to be able to.

Seeing as how you have seen the insides of the torque tube, maybe you could answer a couple questions (maybe 3). First, is the torque tube necessary? Would it be posible to hard mount the Transaxle and run a drive shaft? Depending on the answers to the above questions, how hard is it to lengthen the TT/shaft?
