Default Powdercoating! Before and after pics! Matte Black!

Professsional business, no. Perfectionist at what I do, yes. Here's some pictures of a friend's '02 Z28 that I did. Here are the before pictures, I powdercoated his throttle body, MAF ends, valve covers, N2O bracket, throttle cable brackets, and HL brackets. He wanted his in Matte Black to blend in with his LS6 intake and SLP Lid. Here are some before pics:

Here's a during pic:

Here are the after pics w/ everything done in matte black:

Disclaimer: this is not MY car, don't comment on the nitrous setup or anything else. I did the powdercoating myself in my garage. PM me if you have any questions.

Brandon, quick question for ya...

Do you know if it would be safe for us to powder coat my coil packs or no?

I don't think it would be a good idea. The brackets yes, coils themselves, don't think so. Powdercoating should only be done on metal. This is how it works: 1) you place a negative lead on the part to be coated, 2) a fan blows powder dust through the gun where the powder becomes positively charged. 3) The powder is attracted to the negatively charged metal. 4) you bake the part in the oven @ 400 degrees, the powder flows, gels, then cures. Once it cools off the coating is MUCH harder than paint and less porous so it's very easy to clean.

offtopic but is your car running again? and to powdercoat something it littlery takes about 35 minutes from the time you lay the powder to the time it flow's out and cures. that's if everything on the valve is nice and clean ready to go

** dunno if you saw the update but the car fired up and runs smooth, but no oil pressure cuz speed inc took the rear oil gallery plug out so we gotta put that in.

true but it's all about the prep work. Just like painting. It's all in the prep work.
