Default Back Firing

2 Weeks ago I put a set of Pacesetter long tubes, 3 inch Y and a single chamber flow on my 99 Z, I also dumped it infront of the rear axle. Now the car backfires when I get on the gas and then let off, kind of embarassing when it does it, will running the pipe over the axle help or is it my muffler? Any help please.

If you didn't get a tune you may get a backfire cause it is running rich and dumping fuel. Some chambered mufflers just pop on deceleration (my single chamber does). does it sound like a gunshot (backfire) or a little less intense (normal).

I would say it sounds more like a gun shot on hard accel and just little pops on normal driving.
