Default Gear Recomendation?

Hello everyone. I currently have a 12bolt in my car w/spool and 4:10 gears. The car is a 95z28 w/a old school solid roller 5xxci BBC ,Th-400 w/brake,5500 stall and 29.5x10.5 et drags. I had the motor built with plans for a 200-300hp shot of n20. I have not yet put a kit on the car,but will in the next month or so. I have only made about 12 to 15 passes on the motor and tach about 6200-6500 rpm through the traps(best pass so far 9.69@143mph/1.39 60'.I know i'll have too much gear for the gas,and was thinking about swapping to 3:73's,but the only gears i have found in that ratio for a 4series carrier are moser's "street" set. I'm kind of leary about those at that kind of power level.Anyone make a 3:73 competition gear set for a 12 bolt w/4 series carrier?

Just buy the right spool for the 3 series gear. They are not that expensive and would better suit you needs. Check out our website for pricing.

I'd try the street gears first, we use them on cars making a lot of power without any problems. Bob
