Default Upgraded PCV valve?

I see thunderracing has a newly designed pcv valve. What is the benefit? Do i need one? Can I get this at the autoparts store?

My ls1 is burning oil after a cam swap. I have a catch can from elite engineering on the way. (btw, will this fit an fbody, i know it is designed for a c5 vette, I got it used.) I am almost positive i can make it work but will it mount out of the box?

I don't have traction control or anything in the area where it usually goes.

Get yourself the new updated 5.3L truck valve. It has a MUCH smaller orifice than the older LS1 valves, and doesn't let oil pass through. It's only 4-5 bux from gmpartsdirect.

Hmm let me know if this works for ya Jon. FYI, my catch can catches oil but motor is still burning quite a bit. If I ever get around to it I'll be having a friend change valve seals because that may be the problem.
