Default Berger panel color?

when i got my ss the rear tailight filler panel was cracked so i ordered a new one, its a factory black panel and already has ss badge on it, My car is pewter do you guys think i should leave it the factory gloss black, or paint it satin black? I dont want it to look like i just threw a panel on there that was the wrong color. any pictures of either a satin black or gloss black one on a pewter car would be great help. im also getting musffinbusters camaro inlays for it.

If you paint a gloss black one, take a scotch brite pad to it and scuff it up. Then put a coat of primer on first before you do the satin black. It will come out pretty nice that way.

Id do it satin black. I dont like gloss ones, like you said, looks like you just threw a part off a black car on there.

I used this: http://www.firewheelclassics.com/sto...&SKU=PNT-KRYSF. Any hardware store should carry it.

I wanted to do a glossy flat black, like a mix of the two, but I didn't bother sanding down the stock black one I bought. Here is the only pic I could find

The Krylon semi-flat that I posted a link to has a bit of gloss in it (satin). That sounds like what you were looking for.

I this pic you can see that it isn't completely flat, just a hint of gloss.

I wanna do this to mine too...I was thinking satin would look cool, but every day I look at the car (hardtop car, not t-tops) and say "the roof/sail panel is gloss black...I think the back in gloss will match nicely".

I still can't decide though.

My suggestion was to look in the Appearance & Detailing Forum for pics and information. IF all else fails, try a search on the subject. This has been discussed and plotted out MANY times.
