Default P245/50R 16 Tires???

P245/50R 16 This is what my local tire place said would be the widest that I can fit on my stock snowflakes. I dont really know what this means as far as wideness and such. Is this a good size? I need a little Tire ED. please.

Thanks for any input

like the guy above said, 255's are real hard to come by but I'd suggest just gettin some rims and go wider!

ok thanks guys. Ill just stick with the crappy tires I have now till I can afford some 17x9.5's. I just figured if I can find them I would just get 2 to hold me over till the spring.

Hi. Do you guys have any steering/clearance issues with the 255's?

I have the stock rims. I was thinking of going to a wider tire, but I'd like to keep the stock rims.

Thanks!

Yes, 255 will fit just fine. Dunlop also makes a 255/50/16 tire.

if a 275 will fit the fronts....a 255 will fit

a 255 tire will have 3/8" wider tread....which will have NO noticable affect on traction...assuming identical tires. its the style tire that makes more differnce.

i had 255 series Firehawk SZ50s on my 96 z....love them.

theoretically the tire will be about 1/4" taller as well...which could will throw your speedo off by 1.5%

BFG also makes a 255/50/16 drag radial if you are looking for traction. I just got some but havent put them on my car yet.

Summito makes a great 245/50/16 that is 9" wide for $63.00. Check with the Tire Rack , they may even make a 255 series in a 16". Also BF Goodrich makes a 295/50/16 .

There aren't a whole lot in 255's but they do make MT Drag radials in 255/50 r16 if you really want to hook. MT's are wayy stickier than BFG's. Here is a pic of my car on 255 Dunlop's on stock snowflakes. No rubbing problems or anything with them on my car.
