How many own two f-bodys?
I've been looking for a new daily driver lately, and there are quite a few LT1 and a few LS1 cars in my price range. I was just wondering how many have both a daily driven and a nice day cruiser f-body, and if you do, do you ever regret it.

I can see the appeal of that, but to me it doesn't make sense.
Face it, the F-Body isn't that practical of a car. If it's your only car, fine, you deal with it. If it's your toy, and you have a DD, it doesn't matter how impractical it is.
But if you have the ability to have a DD, and leave the F-Body as a toy, why not pick a more practical or economical car?
Also, when your F-Body is a toy, you look forward to driving it, and when you finally get to, it's a treat. If you drive one everyday, I'd
think it would lose some of it's appeal, and the driving experience wouldn't be as special anymore.
Mine's a DD, and while I enjoy drivng it, I definitely enjoy getting into it more if I haven't driven it in a few days. The sad thing is, sometimes I won't drive it at all on the weekend just so I'll at least look forward to my drive to work on Monday.

i've owned 4 f-body's total, a 25th anniversary, and an 89 iroc.. guess i should've read the entire thread, i love having a daily but i'd MUCH rather drive the Z every day just cuz I love speed. My Honda Acorn doesn't move worth a **** but it saves gas and it BANGS!

Stuntmanmike makes a lot of sense to me.....I want a economic DD....IF I had the money to have two f-bodies and a DD then i would do it....a Camaro and Firebird.....or sell both and get a C-6 Vette

I had 2 F-bods and my 06 Ram for awhile but finally sold the Z and kept the SS. Mostly since I just wasn't doing anything with the Z and it was just sitting there. I can only rock the SS in the summer anyways thanks to the NY winter.

I have two SS' and a Z, but the Z doesn't count becasue I it bought as a winter fix r upper becasue it was so cheap and clean. So, ignoring the Z which will be sold in the spring, I have 2 Camaro's. Neither car is a DD. They are strictly toys that I use primarily on the weekend. I agree with Stuntmanmike...absence does make the heart grow fonder. Not driving the SS' daily makes the weekend blasts in each car that much more satifying. Not having to deal with the little quirks of the f-bodies on daily basis has been a huge factor in keeping me interested and motivated to continue to modify and refine both cars. Having a comfortable DD, like my truck has been a huge blessing for me. I have a year round driver which allows me to enjoy my Camaro's when I want something fun and fast, but it also allows me to take my time in doing the mods. Gotta love the versatility of a quality DD.

I can see what stuntmanmike's point is and can agree with it. But i have two f-body's...a 02 T/A Ws6 and a 96 firebird 3.8L five speed. While this is not the most practical car out there for a DD i consistantly get 30 mpg doin 75 on the highway. A lot of 4 cylinders harderly get that. I dont think its that bad because those 3.8s are awesome motors in terms of reliability with the exception that you will prolly have to replace the coil packs and alternator at some point but still not bad. Because its only 200hp and 225 ft-tq i still appreciate driving the bad boy on the nice days, but i feel right at home in the "firechicken" and hey its not bad for a DD that gets 30 highway mpg and is rear wheel peel that can lay rubber in two gears
96 was the first year with a 3.8 that was a standard engine.
Plus it always nice when somebody says "hey that a nice car" when im in the firechicken and i tell them its a six pack but they say "its still nice" so i say "then you should see the other one lol"
Sorry for the long sorry but thats my .02

I have owned 2 F-Bodies for the last 4 years. Different cars over the time. I couldn't make it with 1 car. Let alone 1 car and a beater. No way. Now I own a F-Body and a Vette. May pick up another F-Body so i can have 3 F-Bodies and a vette like i did for about a week until I sold my TA
Here a a few pics of varies 2 F-Bodies over the years. I have many other cars just so long ago never uploaded the pics. Yes I have owned 12 4th gens over the years

I have the LT1 for race/weekend and the LS1 for a DD. Before I bought the LS1 as the DD I actually tried going the beater route with a Honda CRX but it didn't take long for me to figure out that I just CANNOT drive a damn 4 cylinder everyday and I NEED some level of horsepower daily. So since the LS1 is pretty economical for a V8, DD it is! I wouldn't change a thing!

...if you feel like donating one feel free to throw it my way!!! damn I would love to have one as a dd and one as a toy, but I get moved around too much to be able to stick with a rwd car all year long unless I was only in the south or wanted to risk it up north anywhere. I gotta keep my truck and im saving up to buy another f-body as a nice day cruiser/toy

I have two, but one is the project for now. I'll probably acquire a 3.8 and do a turbo 6 or just cram an SBC 350 in my old 95. I'll probably keep the Z28 as my DD, even though it's a H/C car. Honestly for me, if I really need to tow or haul something, nearly everyone in my family has trucks, I can borrow one of theirs, and living in Florida, I never have to worry about snow. I also don't do FWD. I've driven a few FWD cars and I hate em. I mean, I can see why people like some of em, but I hate having to drive FWD, I'm so used to the *** end of the car going flying whenever I get on it.......

See sig.
I love having two. I'm thinking about having 3.
My '98 is a perfect weather cruiser/show car only. Sees less than 1,000 miles per year at this point. The '02 was recently aquired, and will be a nice weather driver once spring comes around.
