I am going to get a dry flow filter for my K&N intake - what size should I get? 3 or 4 inch inlet?

Yes no oil. I should have time tonight to take my filter off and measure it.

Yes that should eliminate any maf issue, since there is no oil. The only thing I am change is the filter.

Are they proven to work as well/better? I'd be all for not having to oil that damn thing. No matter how much i use i end up cleaning the MAF for weeks afterwards.

The only thing I am changing is the filter. I will still use the kn intake, this should prevent any maf issues.

I have heard only good things about them.
they still require a 15-20 dollar maintenance kit every 30k miles or so

Right they have to be washed. That won't mess with the maf though.

no when re-oiling the filter you run a good chance of the MAF getting dirty - then you have to clean it.

When the MAF is fouled, the air-reading is skewed and you get a hesitation or stutter in acceleration when the ECM is trying to combine air and fuel in wrong quantities.

Thanks!... They really got the woven stainless steel to hold dirt particles so small?

what I have always done with my K&N intakes has been buy 2 9" cones. Use the brand new one for spring/summer and when Fall/winter comes, I would take out the first one, put in the new one and then clean the first one and let it sit for 3-4 months untill Spring came around. This way even if I did put alittle too much oil on the filter, i would be dry enough by the time I put it back on.
In 7 years with K&N filters, Ive never once had to clean my MAF sensor.
