Default stock rockers with tfs 215 heads???

Could a person just shim the stock rockers to the correct geometry in order to use them on the tfs heads or is there some other aspect that makes the stock rockers perform poorly on those heads? The cam is small (tr 224) but I don't know if size of cam makes a difference.

I wouldn't. Early on there were problems with stock rockers eating up the valve tips. Its my understanding there is nothing you can do with stock rockers too completely eliminate it.

It would be nice to know exactly why? It sounds like a geometry/swipe issue that you would think could be remedied by shimming the stock rockers.

My understanding is that the different angle of the heads is why you can't use the stock rockers. The different angle is what jacks it up.

I guess the angles must be so different that shimming wouldn't be enough to compensate. It is funny how you can use - ie: harland sharp rockers - on stock heads and also on tfs heads (shimmed or not) yet you cannot use stock rockers on the tfs heads. Maybe it is more the restricted design of the stock rockers rather than the geometry of the heads that causes the problems.

It says the tfs heads had their geometry tweaked on the newer versions to more closely mimick the stock geometry and that you could use the stock rockers but they are not recommended.

Who knows.....
