Default huge project!! I need opinions

Ok, so the time is getting closer. I have about 35k to do everything i want to my car including suspension, motor, and fi. At first i was thinking of doin a 402 with a custom grind turbo cam, with a 76 turbonetics ball bearing turbo with custom manifold and piping. The cost of everything was goin to be around mid $35,000 with all suporting mods including fuel systems, suspension, cooling, transmission etc... I was looking at some youtube.com videos and was starting to think about a F1 procharger with a cog belt system, fully built lsx motor, and supporting mods. I figure this is the cheaper alternative route and i can still see the number that i want. I'm looking for something in the 800rwhp. Im trying to decide if i want a stalled auto or a g force t-56 transmission. I enjoy shifting but want whats best for the car. Another question that i have it, i was told by a knowledgeable friend that us ls1 guys can't run two tones on our cars, a street tune, then a more aggresive track tune. Is this possible or how would i go about doing this?? Any help would be helpful.... thanks

-mike

im not sure about running mult tunes but you could get an electronic boost controlled to decrease the boost while running on the street

no its a procharger which is a belt driven supercharger. boost rely's on the size of the pulley

Ive heard of people running two tunes, they flip a switch and it switches the tune, so it could be possible. be neat, thats for sure.

Whats the goals. How much will the car see the drag strip? Obviously the auto will be more reliable than the t-56 at the track, but 6 speed would be more fun on the street. Sounds like shooting for a streetable car that runs 9's too me? 408/402 + power adder is a classic setup from what i've read. Turbo's are cool, but I prefer the whine of a procharger myself. If it seldom sees the track you could always just change the pulley the afternoon before you go.

I thought you were leaning more towards turbocharging it, thats why i recommended the boost conrtoller.

Completely Forged TT LSX down to the bolts, Bullet-Proof trans, DS, and rear end. Koni SA's, nice springs for their duty.

Run Full Weight 9's

Save some money for a cage too. You'll need it if you plan on making more than one full pass at the track before getting kicked out if you end up with the power you are talking about.

it will see the track quite a bit. I like to go out about 3 times a month, time willing. Thats the problem i don't know if i want a fun car on the streets or a serious car with a built stalled auto. What would you guys do? I too prefer the whine of the procharger lol. Swapping out the pulley every time i go to the track seems like too much work? Is it difficult to swap them out? I read somewhere that procharger was experementing with a type of wastegate on the intake to control boost. Does anyone know of the progress with that. Dont' really see how it will work but maybe. Is there a way i can have a street tune on one computer but change out to a second one with the race gas tune before i head to the track or would that be too much trouble

i was leaning toward more cubes (408ci) and a F1 cog belt system. i don't think i can see the numbers i want with a d1sc. Differential is already bulletproof, built 9" with detroit lock. The reason why i was thinking the g force t-56 was because they came out with a new street version that is capable of taking, i believe, over 1000 hp. Heard it shifts like butter too!

i realize that, and thats what makes me stuck, cuz if i were to go the turbo route i would have it done a certain way, costing a leg and a arm. do i really want more power than 900 rwhp anyways??....
and a cage will be in the car immediately after or during the build

if your gona do more than go straight you better consider the amount of weight your putting up front... iron blocks= more weight than aluminum. and with 35g you def have more than enough cash to get what you want. and if the pro charger doesnt do it add 250 shot F T W !!!!
