anybody know what heads come stock on a lq4 and also what heads are on a 5.3 stock

are the #862 heads the only thing that ever came on the 5.3's

317s come stock on the LQ4. 862s are on the 5.3s. Although I've read where some of the newer ones are coming with the 243s. I think they were surplus and they just threw them on some the 5.3s or something like that. Not 100% sure on that.

All of the new 5.3's are coming with 243/799's(same thing) and it's not just surplus. They also swapped the dished pistons for flat tops to bring the compression back up.

706 on my 5.3 also on 2 of my buddies trucks also. Mine is a 2000 5.3 silverado, one is a 2000 4.8 GMC and the other is a 2001 4.8 silverado... All are extended cab 2wd 1500 models if it makes a diffrence. The GMC came from another state. The other 2 silverados were sold in California.

I Have seen the 862 casting on a few motors but I am not sure if it has to do with the plant that it came out of or what.... Just from what I have physically seen 706 seem to be more common on 4.8/5.3 motors. Hope it shines some light on the subject.
