Arrow Thinking about a set of heads.

Everyone,

Thinking about a set of heads for my GTO. was looking into patriot heads. what do you guys recommend? also. my car right now is putting about 400 to the wheels.. if I put a set of heads on there would it be wise now for some sub frame connectors and a new clutch?

LS-7 clutch will handle the power of a heads cam LS-1. Would feel like stock, and drive great as a DD.

Oh, and ETP 215's or AFR 205's. Personally, use the ETP's.

I am installing a set of ETP 215's on my already 408 RWHP LS-1 GTO. Should yeild me abover 450 RWHP. The addition of a 90mm FAST setup and an SD tune will take it into the 475 RWHP range.

ETP's would be great, but to me they cost too much. When I do heads I'm just buying a set of 243's and having them ported.

LS7 clutch should do the job IMO.

Sub frame connectors will not be needed. Though if you want to spend the money on them go ahead, it'll stiffen up the car quite a bit.

If you want to spend 2 grand on heads and another grand on a FAST setup for 50-75 hp sure. I would just spray the car. 1k for 150+ wheel.

Well Greeny is about to have some company. Mine is being put back together as we speak. I was 418 rwhp Cam only on ls1. With the new Patriot ls6 II 59cc heads, PORTED Fast 90, and NW 90 TB I will be close if not over. If these dont get me there my 150 shot will put me well over. Closer to 600rwhp

im going with a set of 205's for my ls2, with a mild cam, however a set of ported 243 heads fully assembled will go for alot cheaper than the AFR's and will make good power over the 241 heads you have now. its all up to what your willing to pay. AFR's will make more power with a better curve than 243's but cost around well over 2K...if you can afford an aftermarket casting thats the way to go! Nitrous works great but isnt always there, a set of heads will change the overall feel of the car partial throttle as well as full throttle where nitrous is only WOT and is kinda illegal to spray on the street.
