b/c to get a good look to the tire you want it wider than your rim - just bc it will fit doesnt mean it will look right.

275/285 is as big as you should go on a 9.5''....and those are as small as you should go on a 11''

275/40ZR17 or 274/35ZR18 are PERFECT for a 9 to 9.5" wide wheel.

The 275, will work on the 10.5" wheel but will look a little narrow compared to the wheel.

A 295/35ZR18 is the PERFECT tire for a 10.5" wide wheel.

Depends on the manufacturer. My GSD3s were a full inch larger than my old Falken 512s in the same 275/40/17 size

if it is a /25 it will show the rim off more . the low profile i thought always looks cool on larger wheels especially 20+ inch as well as high quality wheels in general .

just curious as to what style rime they are going on and are these going on the rear ?
