Default TR224...what shift points?

i am not exactly sure where to set my shift points with my setup. it is TR224 112, TSP 5.3L 2.5 heads, and full bolt ons including LT's. i find that they are almost always faster when shifting a little late. i am thinking setting it at 6300 or 6400. also, what is a good rpm to set the car to idle at? any suggestions?

I would say 6500 and set rev limiter to 6700.

I've always thought the rule of thumb was 400RPM past peak HP? I'd try 6400-6650rpm at the track and see which setting gives you the most MPH on the 1320.

right now i have it set at 6200 and the rev limiter at 6800. i just think it will pull a little more than that easily. plus, raising the shift point will then cause it to drop less after it shifts.

Well, it would be nice to see a dyno sheet with your power curve..

..but I would probably be shifting at 6500 set the rev limiter to 6700.

On another note, do you have stronger rod bolts on your car?

If not, you shouldn't really be bringing that car anywhere past 6700rpms..

My setup starts to fall off pretty fast after 6500rpms. Peaks at a little over 6050rpms and holds flat to 6400rpms. Rev limiter @ 6800.
