Default ET street radials 315/45/16's rim size?

Can the new 315/45/16's be run on a set of 16x8 stock sized rims? I have the 245's on there now and would like to gain some width and dia to help with my trap rpms on the spray?

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

315's are designed for a 10.5 or 11 inch rim. A 8 inch rims is WAY too narrow.

Hmmm... not sure on that. Its a rare size. It would have to be custom if anything like Bogarts.

edit.. I just looked around on summit and there are 16x10's but none in the 7.5" Backspace needed to fit on a 4th gen f-car... but.. there are 16x9.5's in a 7" Backspace that might work? but they are Centerlines and won't be a light weight wheel. They don't have anything in 16x10.5 or 16x11

Just curious but why would a tire company make a massively wide tire like this when there is not a lot of wheels that they will fit on.

And for a truck it would not be hard at all to find a 16x10. That 315/45/16 has got to be close to 28 inches tall.

probably for the trucks. One thing to consider is that it is easier to get a wider tire on a rim when it has more sidewall. Look at the tires on top fuel cars. They are not flush with the rim. I don't know about fitting that tire on a 16x8 though.

So it comes down to that being a 27/12.50/16
now the 295/50/16 can fit on an 8" rim. It equates to 28 X 11.50R16
